What is Careprost?

Careprost Eye Drops is an ophthalmic solution that helps people with Glaucoma and high intraocular pressure.

Glaucoma is a group of diseases that causes damage to the optic nerve because of high eye pressure.

It can cause vision problems that could lead to blindness. Careprost is FDA-approved and well-known for helping eyelashes grow, in addition to helping with Glaucoma.

Careprost Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution 0.03 is a Prostaglandin Analogue manufactured by Sun Pharmaceuticals. It is only available with a prescription from a doctor.

Uses of Careprost

Careprost eye drops and its active ingredient Bimatoprost is an effective medicine for three medical conditions – Glaucoma, Intraocular Hypertension, and Eyelashes Hypotrichosis.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is caused when the optic nerve is damaged due to high pressure in the eye.

As the disease progresses, irreversible blindness and the slow loss of Retinal Ganglion Cells happen.

Patients suffering from Glaucoma can use eye drops like Careprost 0.03 ml with other eye drops, maintaining a 10-minute gap between them.

However, it must be used only in the affected eye.

Intraocular Hypertension

Careprost 0.03 eye drops decrease the high intraocular pressure caused by Ocular Hypertension.

Too much fluid accumulating in the eye can lead to high pressure, and Careprost 0.03% w/v helps drain the excess fluid.

High ocular pressure can cause permanent eyesight loss by damaging the optic nerve if left untreated.

Eyelashes Hypotrichosis

Eyelashes Hypotrichosis is a disorder in which a patient has insufficient eyelashes.

The leading cause of Hypotrichosis is genetics, but based on the patient’s history, there can also be other reasons.

Bimatoprost is an Ophthalmic Prostamide analog approved by the FDA in the USA for treating Eyelash Hypotrichosis.

Bimatoprost Careprost promotes the growth of eyelashes and makes them longer, thicker, and darker when applied as an eyelash serum.

How does Careprost work

Bimatoprost, a Prostaglandin Analogue, is a primary ingredient of Careprost 0.03% eye drops 3 ml.

The ophthalmic solution works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor (fluid in the eye) and, in the process, lowering the increased eye pressure.

Initially, the eyedrop was designed to treat people with Glaucoma.

However, researchers and patients soon noticed that Bimatoprost eye drops promote the formation of eyelashes by increasing the density and length of hairs.

As a result, Careprost has also become a popular eye growth serum assisting in treating eyelash Hypotrichosis.
